Even if you don’t make any sales right off the bat, creating your own products has some important benefits.
If you’re like me, you started out as an affiliate. Somebody else did the hard work and all you have to do is point people in the right direction, right?
What they don’t tell you is that everyone is already promoting that product through PPC and going broke. What you figure out is that the few who are consistently making any money are writing a report or giving away a video to anyone who buys through their affiliate link.
Writing their own report?
That means they have their own product. Besides that it’s the only way to make money, what create your own product?
For one, it builds credibility. When you’re always talking about other people’s stuff and other people’s proof, what good are you? They may as well get the proof directly from, well, those other people.
Another reason to create your own info product is that it helps you build YOUR list. Lists are pretty useless and unresponsive as long as you are pushing stuff you’ve only used, but didn’t create yourself.
Once you have your own product, you stand out from the masses of wannabes. I felt good after I created Lightning Languages, even if it wasn’t an instant hit. The concept that I could sit down and create a digital product in a couple hours and get even a few sales from it was awe inspiring.
The third reason to create your own product is that you can build a relationship with your list. After I bought an initial low ticket item from one marketer who proved he knew what he was talking about, I purchased several more – including a course which I paid over $1200 for — and was happy I did.
I have a long way to go before I’m satisfied with my product marketing skills, but I’m already convinced that having your own product is the only way to long term growth and success.
Leave me a comment below with your experiences.

I learned three things about info product creation this morning from my five year old daughter.
My daughter was lying on my bed watching me prepare to go to my day job. As I laid a shirt on the bed and began to button it up so I could steam the wrinkles out of it, she asked me what I was doing.

An accountability partner can be a great resource to motivate you and to help you reach your goals, but if you are not careful, an accountability partner can be like a ball and chain that drags you down.
To make sure you find an accountability partner who is your catapult to higher and faster achievement and not your crutch, consider this:
The greatest value in having an accountability partner is to maintain a daily discipline of setting and reaching goals. You want someone who helps you keep focused, motivated and moving forward.

If you implement the steps I am about to give you, tomorrow you will look back on today as the day you became awesome.
If you are like me, you’ve spent a lot of time and a ton of money reading a bunch of e-books, watching videos, attending seminars and webinars, and trying a lot of stuff that just didn’t work.
You made a huge effort and didn’t get much in return. You felt everything but awesome.
That was my story.
Recently I stumbled across a method of getting stuff done that is changing everything.

For years I used Gmail because it was free, but never really came to terms with the interface. After all, I had been weaned on Outlook and was used to putting things in folders. Gmail left everything in the inbox and only allowed you to mark it with different labels.
It was a mess.
But since I got my Google G1 Android phone which has built-in Gmail support and no Outlook support, I was forced to take another look at Gmail. At first I resisted, but then…

Imagine this scenario….
A virulent new strain of flu virus is discovered which immediately begins to spread rapidly throughout the United States.
Health officials at the Center for Disease Control (CDC) scramble to contain the spread of the disease. In the situation room, panicked officials are brainstorming to find a way to halt what threatens to become a global pandemic.
“This unusual situation requires unconventional action. We have to think outside the box.” The head of the CDC continues, “We need to find an infinitely powerful organization that has global reach and can get to people wherever they are at any given time, at home, in the office, in their cars…”

Without tools, we would all still be living in caves.
Creating your own Internet marketing tools can move you from the cave to the mansion. Not only will it allow you to get ahead with your own marketing, it will also equip you with a product to market to others.
Having your own product puts you at the top of the affiliate marketing food chain.
Do you want to program but don’t know where to start?
